While unmarked, the quality of the painting, rich cobalt ground, and lavish gilt embellishment strongly suggest production in the manner of Royal Worcester, one of England’s most respected porcelain houses of the period.

The plate immediately commands attention with its striking deep cobalt blue border, lavishly adorned with intricate hand-applied gilt scrolling foliate decoration.
