Custom commissioned for an individual of considerable wealth and refinement, the set reflects the height of early 20th-century luxury. The most striking element is the eight-piece collection of thick crystal jars and bottles, each crowned with gold vermeil lids over French Minerva-marked sterling silver (950 grade). The lids, engraved with the original owner's initials “FM,” feature a repoussé neoclassical leaf motif that complements the deeply engraved radiating lines in the crystal, creating a luminous interplay of light and texture. Accompanying the crystal set is a seven-piece grooming ensemble that includes celluloid patterned brushes for hair and clothing, a nail buffer, shoehorn, and curling tool, each reflecting meticulous craftsmanship. Additional fine accessories include a fold-out writing blotter pad, a velvet-lined jewelry box, and a leather case filled with grooming tools—all housed within a thick, green leather suitcase fitted specifically to hold each piece, complete with brass hardware and a stand-up mirror.

The leather case measures 20 inches wide, 14 inches deep and 7 inches high. The mirror measures 12 inches high by 8 inches. There is wear and signs of use to the case, the corners to the front lid have separation. The grooming tools have some cracks and losses the celluloid tops. The crystal is in overall good condition no major damage of note. A few small indents to silver lids. The silverplate square tray shown in photos is not included.
