Design Plus Gallery presents a Walnut Wood Parlor Table from the Victorian Eastlake Era of the Late 19th Century. The table has a pedestal base of four branched legs with indices carvings and a turned central column. The tabletop is remarkable and of the era, known as Tennessee Marble. Found only in Tennessee this limestone earned its name by its distinct pink shades. The stone is quite durable as it takes a high polish and exceeds the strength of standard metamorphic marble. The table is in good overall condition for its antique age with minimal signs of visible wear.
