Beautiful 19th century blue and white English transferware large bowl featuring an idyllic pastoral landscape framed by a richly detailed floral border. The interior depicts a tranquil riverside scene with figures in boats, an arched bridge, cottages and a church rising above rolling countryside, while complementary landscape vignettes continue around the exterior. Finished with a finely molded beaded rim and displaying the soft craquelure and warm patina expected of antique earthenware, this generously sized bowl is equally striking displayed on a shelf, console or dining table as a centerpiece.
