Striking French Transitional style armchair (fauteuil à la reine) featuring exceptional hand-carved details. The frame boasts an elegant oval medallion back crowned with a deeply carved ribbon bowknot crest. The sweeping arms feature beautifully detailed, hand-carved ram’s head terminals over acanthus leaf supports, resting on classic cabriole legs.
The chair is upholstered in a luxurious, heavy-weight woven tapestry fabric depicting a prowling leopard amidst pastel floral blooms, finished with classic brass nailhead trim. The fabric on this chair is in excellent vintage condition with vibrant colors and minimal wear.
