T. … Read more An English set of three (3) cobalt‑blue and off‑white ironstone soup plates, in a Chinoiserie landscape pattern, by W. T. Copeland & Son, Stoke‑Pon‑Trent, England, circa late 19th century (1875–1890).

These pieces are traditionally known as soup plates and are also referred to as deep plates — ideal for soup, pasta, salad, etc. Each plate features a crisp cobalt design depicting pagodas, bridges, birds, and trees, framed by a scalloped rim with a geometric border. The design is part of the classic Willow‑style family of English blue‑and‑white Chinoiserie patterns inspired by Chinese export porcelain.

All three are marked on the reverse with W. T. Copeland & Son and Royal Ironstone China stamps, with impressed factory marks also present (see images). A beautiful set for everyday use or displayed as decorative art/wall art. See less
