Made in Morganton, North Carolina, circa 1980, the table combines traditional American craftsmanship with subtle Campaign and Asian-inspired design influences.

What caught my attention here is the proportion. At just 30 inches wide, this is that increasingly useful smaller cocktail-table size that can go where a conventional 40- or 50-inch coffee table simply overwhelms the seating arrangement. At 16 inches high, it would also be particularly appealing paired with low slipper chairs or other low-profile seating. And there's a little practicality hidden in all that good design: the large drawer gives you somewhere to put remotes, reading glasses, coasters, and all the other things that inevitably collect on a coffee table.
