Dating to approximately 1845, the stand reflects the practical craftsmanship and elegance of American furniture produced during the transition from the Classical to Victorian periods. Measuring just over 15 inches in diameter, it offers the compact footprint that made candle stands indispensable in nineteenth-century homes and equally useful in today's interiors.

One of my favorite qualities of an antique candle stand is how effortlessly it adapts to modern living. Its modest footprint allows it to fit almost anywhere, yet it always proves useful—holding a morning cup of coffee beside a favorite chair, displaying a treasured bronze or porcelain figure, or serving as a convenient drinks table when entertaining. I've even used pieces like this as bedside tables in smaller guest rooms. The warm walnut has acquired a beautiful mellow patina over the years, and its understated design feels equally at home in Traditional, Americana, English Country, Colonial Revival, and Transitional interiors.
