An imposing and highly distinctive three-piece garniture de cheminée, signed H&F Paris, featuring a remarkable decorative programme centred upon wolf heads - an iconographic choice of striking rarity
1n French decorative bronze.
The central clock case, mounted on Rouge Royal marble, incorporates the wolf-head motifs with sculptural boldness.
The flanking five-arm candelabra (height 66 cm) echo the programme with studied symmetry. Movement number 797 is present.
Rouge Royal marble - the deep crimson stone quarried in Belgium - provides a dramatic counterpoint to the gilt and silvered bronze, characteristic of the finest French salon compositions of the Belle Époque.
An ensemble of strong presence and collecting interest, combining formal excellence with an iconography rarely encountered in period garnitures.
