We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning set of three original mid century modern Maison Bagues trolley nested tables A very good looking highly decorative and collectable nest of tables, each one is the style of a drinks, silver or tea table from the Regency era. The tables are totally original and free from any form of restoration, the glass is hand cut and period, they are genuinely a lovely find and extremely well made Dimensions: Height 49 cm / 44 cm / 39 cm Width 44 cm / 37.5 cm / 30 cm Depth 55 cm / 47.5 cm / 21 cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. The Origins Baguès was born in Auvergne around 1840 and became famous internationally as a creator of art lighting. In the beginning it specialized in liturgical bronze and the company quickly developed by the end of the 19th century thanks to bronze lighting brought about by the generalization of electricity. During the 1920s, Victor and Robert Baguès enlarged the bronze lighting collection of their father and created their own iron models: the range Baguès is composed of Parrots & Foliage chandeliers and wall sconces. The Development Some of the most well known art directors and decorators of that time appeared in the Baguès order books, to include: Jansen, Raymond Subes, and Armand Albert Rateau. The latter who, in 1928, created the arrangement for the decoration of Jeanne Lanvin’s mansion. In between both wars, the development extended onto the international stage, and permanent establishments were created in New York, Rome, and Cairo. The activity also extended into the manufacturing of stairway banisters and metal gates, which are still in position in Condition: Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
