A beautifully decorated Victorian English papier maché pedestal dish finished in black jappaned lacquer with finely gilded Chinoiserie decoration.
The circular scalloped form depicts an elegant garden scene with three figures overlooking a pond with swans, framed by classical urns and tropical foliage.
Lovely addition to an existing collection, as table top decor or hang on your wall.

Hanging string around the rim is a later addition. The bowl has a gentle undulation or minor distortion and is not perfectly flat or perfectly round, adding to its authentic antique character.
