Love the … Read more Handsome mahogany 2 door bookcase with claw feet and turned columns with carved capitals and leaded glass doors. Love the tulip shape of the leaded glass in the doors. Each door with a row of 3 tulips. Bookcase bears a partial Larkin Factory No 12 label on the back. Anyone at all familiar with the Larkin Company would instantly recognize the label. The door on the right, as you face the bookcase has a small hole to the bottom of the center flower. This can be seen in the photo after photo of label was well as in the last photo. The right column also has a gouge in it that can be seen in the 6th and 7th photos. I cant imagine how this happened but it leaves an opening for a great story to be made up! You know the angry chef and the person didnt like the ,meal getting chased out of the house with a clever or something zany like that. Use your imagination! Otherwise bookcase is in good original condition. Some crazing to the finish and some light wear and scratches consistent with use and age. The Larkin company was a well know maker of furniture at the beginning of the 20th century. The shelves are adjustable on each side. The original brass handles and the original key are present. The leaded glass doors really make thus a standout. Bookcase is 58 1/2" tall and 48" wide and 14 1/2" deep. See less
