c. 1950s-1960s; Swift & Company - St. Paul, MN
Large-format square wall clock featuring Swift's classic red script logo and illustrated cuts of meat at the quarter-hour positions. Originally produced for butcher counters and grocery departments, these clocks served both as functional timepieces and as in-store promotional fixtures reinforcing Swift's midcentury marketing line: "Makes everything better... including appetites." The dial is cleanly screened with bold graphics, and the piece retains its oversized molded frame-finished in a gold tone typical of 1950s-60s point-of-sale displays.
Swift, founded in 1855 in Eastham, MA, grew into one of America's largest meatpacking firms, producing extensive branded advertising for grocers nationwide
