Most likely Pennsylvania, circa 1800-1820
A charming, honest early American country Windsor chair with a graceful bow-back spindle form. Retains an old black painted surface over several earlier layers of paint — a wonderful accumulated surface that speaks to the chair's long history of use. Sturdy turned legs with box stretcher.
