A beautifully preserved German Art Deco wall clock by Mauthe, dating to the late 1930s and showcasing the clean, understated elegance that defined European industrial design of the period.
The clock features its original glossy ivory glazed ceramic case, original glass bezel, mechanical movement, and richly colored burgundy numeral dial accented by the original Mauthe eagle trademark. Its restrained architectural silhouette makes it equally at home in Art Deco, Bauhaus, Modernist, and traditional interiors.
This example presents exceptionally well, retaining its original glazed finish with a bright, clean appearance that is increasingly difficult to find. The ceramic case is free of visible cracks or repairs, and the original glass and dial remain beautifully preserved.
The original mechanical movement is present; however, the winding key is missing, so the clock has not been tested and is being offered as an untested mechanical timepiece.
A wonderful decorative object and an increasingly collectible example of early German Art Deco design.
