The desk features four working drawers across the front, including a spacious central drawer with document dividers and a side drawer with a concealed locking compartment. Pull-out writing slides on both sides, each retaining its original leather surface, provide additional workspace. The reverse is finished with simulated drawers, allowing the desk to be displayed from all sides. The desk is accented with original brass escutcheons, ring pulls, beaded brass trim framing each drawer, brass sabots, and tapered square legs. Professionally restored in our workshop, the desk has been structurally restored, the mahogany has been refinished and polished with wax, and the drawers have been adjusted to open and close smoothly while preserving its antique character. The original leather writing surface displays an attractive patina with age-appropriate wear, complementing the warmth of the mahogany and brass accents. A timeless and highly functional French bureau plat, ideal as an executive desk, writing desk, or library centerpiece.
