The top is removable and not glued down for transportation as it is very heavy. The console has very minor wear on the edge corners which were touched up with gold leaf. The marble top does not have any chips and appears to be in very good condition. The top is a very light tan with extremely fine lighter tan movements. It appears in some photos as pure white, however it is not. less
