However, it is a highly documented and authentic set of 6 dining chairs featuring two premier Danish designs from the 1960s. Their attribution is fully verified by the signature organically sculpted teak joinery of J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik and the iconic architectural A-frame profiles of Schou Andersen.

This curated mixed set of six vintage Danish Modern dining chairs offers an exceptional blend of premier 1960s Scandinavian design. Originally purchased by the seller's father directly from a dedicated Danish furniture importer in Austin, Texas in the 1980s, this single-family collection pairs two of the mid-century era's most iconic silhouettes into one cohesive, designer-tier set.
• Four (4) Niels O. Møller Model 80 Side Chairs: Manufactured by J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik. These represent elite, tier-one Danish craftsmanship, celebrated for their beautifully sculpted, organically curved backrests and seamless, integrated solid teak wood joinery.
• Two (2) Kai Kristiansen Model 31 Dining Chairs: Manufactured by Schou Andersen. Widely revered for their sharp, geometric A-frame profiles, these chairs feature an ergonomic, curved floating backrest that offers exceptional lumbar comfort. With an 18-inch seat height, they function beautifully as captain's chairs at the ends of a dining table.
All six solid teak frames are structurally rock-solid with perfectly tight joints and a rich, glowing vintage amber patina. The seats and backrests are currently wrapped in a vibrant retro purple wool-blend fabric. While the underlying wood frames are in excellent vintage condition, the upholstery fabric shows normal age and wear—making this set a prime candidate for custom reupholstery to match your specific interior, or to be enjoyed exactly as-is for a bold mid-century splash of color.
