The chairs have an especially attractive combination of materials, with substantial shaped hardwood surrounds framing inset upholstered seats and backs. Sleek chrome supports extend continuously from the cantilever bases to the backs, creating a distinctive floating appearance and a wonderful contrast against the warmth of the oak and aged cognac upholstery.
The original suede has developed a beautiful timeworn patina consistent with age and use. One chair has a small tear to the seat upholstery, as clearly shown in the photographs. Additional variations, marks and wear are present throughout the upholstery. The wood displays attractive grain and age-appropriate wear, while the chrome remains bright overall with minor surface wear.
The chairs retain their vintage character and have not been reupholstered or overly restored. An excellent set for a Mid-Century Modern, 1970s modernist, organic modern, or eclectic interior. See less
