Important and rare complete Satsuma earthenware tea service, Meiji period, 19th century.
It includes a sugar bowl, a milk jug, a teapot, 10 cups, 10 saucers, a large footed bowl, 2 plates, and 10 dessert plates.
Satsuma earthenware is characterized by fine crackled glaze on an ivory background, enhanced with gold.
The decorations are hand-painted and signed by the artisan.
Only one cup and its saucer have chips, as does the interior of the milk jug lid. Otherwise, the entire service is in perfect condition.
Dimensions: 17 x 22 x 13 cm for the teapot.
