These mid-century chairs from Spain have a strongly geometric silhouette, constructed in wood and fitted with woven rush panels to both the back rests and seat. The rectangular back supports offer a slightly reclined position as to provide a comfortable seating posture. Broad, flat armrests terminate in subtle carved scroll details at knuckles. The chair sides and legs are a robust trestle-style construction emphasized with Moorish-inspired cutouts and joined by exposed through-tenons and pegs. The warm honey tones of the woven rush contrast beautifully with the deep brown wood frame. Note that there is some staining and wear to one of the chair seats, and slightly unraveled rush at one back rest (see images for further detail).
