These antique chairs from France each feature softly scalloped crest rails over graceful lyre-shaped, open splat design backrests, with hand-painted heraldic shields accented by delicate floral details and scrolling motifs. The flowing curves of the upright supports create a pleasing sense of movement. The upholstered seats are framed within a gently swagged apron that is embellished with hand-painted floral accents. The chairs are presented on elegant cabriole style legs. Note that the seats are currently upholstered in a later striped fabric which shows age and wear and would benefit from reupholstery.
