Right Off the bat we like to say that the worth of this box is not only in the box itself but the hand painted lettering. Those are found on both the front and right side. A straightforward large "Paints" word is on the front of the box, done in a very ornamental graphics, and in shades of yellow—it looks gorgeous agains the dark background. You'll also find it on the side, stating "Keep Door Closed" & "Pull". On the side you'll also find a sweet arrow directing you to the lock.

Please note that the metal key you see in the lock in the pictures is not original. And the other end of this metal hardware is a screw where you tighten the lock with. Although it says "Pull" you would actually now turn.

But back to the box, which we love everything about. A utilitarian piece turned antique art piece. The color is a shade of deep dark brown (almost black) with a lighter brown on the top and bottom portion as well as the inside. When you open this cupboard box you'll find a three shelf unit on the right side. On the middle shelf you'll see "Paints and oils" written on it, and the bottom one "Varnish - paint". On the left door side you'll see where the brushes would have been stored, and their yellow numbering.

This cupboard can be hung back on the wall if you choose to, or it can sit on a table surface. It's a unique piece of antique that can add a whole different element to a decor.
