The base shows residual black … Read more 19th century Swedish Baroque side table, crafted in pine and retaining its original painted finish. The base shows residual black paint with much of the natural pine revealed through generations of wear. The top was painted in a contrasting brick red finish, creating a distinctive country look.
The top is constructed from four planks and shows age related separation, stains, scratches, nicks, and additional signs of use. Substantial Baroque legs are joined by a square stretcher base, giving the table a strong and grounded form. A single drawer provides useful storage and has been rubbed down to the pine below from generations of handling and use.
This Swedish country side table has been restored and is strong, stable, and ready to use. A fine example of early Swedish country craftsmanship with authentic age, color, and character.
