The wide, flat-bottomed form with a high arched handle was made for carrying cut flowers and garden harvest. It does that job beautifully.

The open weave on the body gives it an airy quality that denser baskets don't have. Light moves through it differently. The handle is wrapped and solid. The whole piece sits flat and stable. Warm honey willow tone throughout, with the quiet patina of a piece that has been well kept.

Made in Portugal. Vintage, circa 1970s.
