Characterized by its unique flared design, it features a square-shaped base that transitions up into a wide, round opening. Traditionally used for storage or ceremonies, these baskets are intricately constructed using natural reed and vegetal fibers woven with distinct geometric patterns. They are accented with dark leather trim along the rim and base, and embellished with rows of polished white cowrie shells, which historically symbolized wealth and status across West Africa.
