Add a rare touch of French culinary history and whimsical country charm to your space with this hard-to-find set of four vintage earthenware dessert/salad plates. Crafted by the prestigious Faïencerie de Gien factory in France, this set comes from the highly collectible "Les Gastronomiques de la Santé" (Verger Enchanté series) line designed in the iconic, painterly style of Marie-Pierre Boitard.
Each plate features a vibrant botanical fruit motif accompanied by its historical, playful French health virtues and medical folklore elegantly inscribed below.
Included Fruit Motifs:
La Pomme (Apple)
Les Prunes (Plum)
L'Abricot (Apricot)
Le Raisin (Grapes)
Good vintage condition with a beautifully authentic aged patina. All four plates feature heavy, gorgeous all-over fine glaze crazing on both the front and back surfaces. This uniform crackle glaze is a common characteristic of vintage Gien earthenware and enhances its true country-house character. There are no chips, deep structural cracks, or repairs. Due to the vintage crazing, these plates are ideal for display purposes—perfect for styling a hutch, layering on plate racks, or mounting directly onto a kitchen or dining room wall. Each piece is fully stamped with the official Gien France backstamp on the reverse.
Dimensions (Per Plate):
