Celebrate the craftsmanship of turn-of-the-century American furniture with this handsome pair of Late Victorian pressed-back spindle side chairs, dating to approximately 1890–1910.
Each chair features an elaborately carved crest rail with flowing foliate scrolls surrounding a central shell motif, gracefully curved back posts, six turned back spindles, and beautifully figured solid wood saddle seats showcasing striking natural grain.
Constructed using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery with turned stretchers, these chairs possess the warmth, character, and honest patina that only more than a century of age can provide. Their sculptural silhouettes blend effortlessly into Arts & Crafts, Cottage, Farmhouse, English Country, Traditional, and Eclectic interiors.
Whether used as dining chairs, accent seating, or displayed individually, they make a distinctive statement while celebrating American furniture craftsmanship from the turn of the twentieth century.

The chairs remain structurally sturdy with an attractive, well-aged finish and beautiful natural patina. Age-related wear, surface scratches, finish loss, and minor imperfections are present throughout. As shown in the photographs, there are age-related shrinkage cracks around several spindle joints on the rear of the seats, typical of antique solid wood construction. These do not currently detract from the stability or everyday usability of the chairs. Please review all photographs carefully as they form part of the description. less
