This executive floating desk is attributed to Kai Kristiansen and attributed to Feldballes Møbelfabrik, Denmark, dating to circa 1960–1969. Constructed of teak veneer over hardwood with solid teak legs, sculpted drawer pulls, and solid oak drawer construction, it features a suspended floating top supported by exposed cylindrical posts above freestanding storage cabinets.
Additional features include a fully finished reverse, large open rear bookcase compartment, locking file cabinet, three graduated locking drawers, traditional Danish wooden runner drawer system, original locks, and both original working keys. The design reflects Mid Century Modern style.
This desk closely corresponds to documented examples of the Kai Kristiansen Model 58 executive floating desk produced by Feldballes Møbelfabrik. The attribution is supported by the documented dimensions, floating-top executive construction, finished reverse configuration, signature sculpted recessed "eyelid" drawer pulls, suspended cabinet arrangement, solid oak dovetailed drawer construction, traditional Danish wooden runner system, and overall proportions characteristic of Kai Kristiansen.
The original factory label is no longer present, a common occurrence with surviving Danish furniture.
