This Stephen Schlanser Eclipse Bowl was handcrafted in the United States in 1992. The large centerpiece is executed in aqua-blue art glass and supported by a precision-cut clear stepped pedestal base. The minimalist geometric design is characteristic of Schlanser's Eclipse series and reflects Modern, Minimalist, Contemporary styles.
The broad 16-inch bowl is signed and dated by the artist, confirming the attribution. The original clear stepped pedestal remains with the bowl, and the larger size is encountered less frequently than the more common 8-inch examples. The aqua-blue colourway and architectural form are characteristic of Stephen Schlanser's contemporary American studio art glass.
