Pair of solid brass Chiavari chairs, Italy, 1960s Found in a beautiful as is condition in Italy with a beautiful patinated brass, the upholstery is a charming woven print. We do find this appealing, but would be happy to make a textile change by buyer request to navy velvet or deep forest green velvet.

First designed by Giuseppe Gaëtan Descalzi, and produced since the early 19th century in Chiavari, a Ligurian Town in Italy.

Chiavari is a small town at the coast of Italy that is famous for their delicate furniture production Gio Ponti was inspired by this iconic chair design, and created his own Leggera and Super Leggera chair after studying the Chiavari chair's stance, proportions and overall feel. This pair of chairs is ideal for a luxurious vanity setting, as boudoir chairs, or as a side chairs; we also love Chiavari chairs when they flank a credenza or buffet. See less
