ENTRYWAY COLLECTION - Hollywood Regency Style
A signed and numbered limited edition lithograph by celebrated French artist Claude Gaveau, depicting one of his signature modernist floral still lifes in a brilliant palette of cobalt blue, emerald green, turquoise, crimson, and golden orange. Pencil signed lower right and numbered 22/150 lower left, the composition reflects the lyrical color harmonies and elegant design that made Gaveau one of the leading postwar painters of the School of Paris. Presented under glass with a wide white mat, gold wood fillet, and substantial gilt wood frame, this large-scale lithograph is ready to hang and makes a striking statement in a living room, dining room, foyer, or office.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
French artist Claude Gaveau (1940–2021) studied first at the École des Arts Appliqués and later at the prestigious École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he trained in painting, fresco, stained glass, tapestry, and lithography. Early in his career he received a scholarship from the Academy of Antwerp and soon established himself through successful solo exhibitions in Paris before gaining international recognition through the Wally Findlay Galleries in New York, Palm Beach, Chicago, and Beverly Hills.
Best known for his luminous still life interiors, Gaveau developed a highly recognizable style characterized by vibrant color, soft atmospheric transitions, and elegant, almost musical compositions. His work is represented in numerous public and private collections and continues to enjoy an active international collector market.
