Antique Set of 11 English Wood & Sons English Scenery Blue & White Transferware Dinner Plates
Few pottery names carry as much weight in Staffordshire as Wood & Sons, and their English Scenery pattern has been a quiet favourite since the late 18th century. This set of eleven shows exactly why.
A horse and cart, tall trees, and a distant church framed by a full floral border in deep cobalt blue. The kind of pattern that looks equally right on a dressed table or displayed across a dresser shelf.
The urn backstamp places these plates at 1917 or later, a mark that connects directly to Enoch Wood and Ralph Wood, two of the most celebrated names in British ceramics. Made in Burslem, they carry real regional heritage.
