An excellent pair of antique carved wood and fully upholstered Danish Louis XIV style chairs. High back large chairs that are also quite comfortable. Hand carved details throughout with lion paw feet. Covered in an elegant red and gold tapestry fabric and finished with large round nail head trim.
Dimensions: back height 45”, depth (back through arms) 28”, width (exterior arm to arm) 25.5”, seat depth 21”, seat width 24”, seat height 18”.
Originally purchased from "Scandinavian Antiques" which is no longer in business.
Pair of Throne Chairs or Fauteuils each with an arched back and padded seat joined to open arms with parcel-gilt foliate- and rosette-carved hand rests, and raised on turned legs joined by an H-form stretcher with a carved and pierced apron, upholstered in gold cut velvet nice and clean
