Small black marble pendulum, resting on a sifting and molded base, presenting in the upper part a golden bronze bust … Read more Small black marble pendulum, resting on a sifting and molded base, presenting in the upper part a golden bronze bust of Diane de Poitiers, the sculptor of the Renaissance Jean Goujon (1510 - 1567). The original work comes from the fountain of Anet Castle, which is now exposed to the Louvre Museum. The favorite of King Henri II is represented by profile, the hair raised and carefully capped in braids, retained by a crown, in the fashion of ancient inspiration. The artist has brilliantly transcribed the finesse of his features, and the nobility that emerges.
Accompanied by its reassembly key, this clock has a beautifully decorated dial with a surroundings and golden Roman numerals.
