Bring the vibrant warmth of the Mediterranean into your home with this stunning vintage Italian Majolica ceramic fruit topiary centerpiece. Hand-crafted and meticulously hand-painted in Italy, this exceptional piece features a rich, dimensional composition of glazed lemons, persimmons, and grapes nestled over deep green foliage, all resting on an intricately molded terracotta basketweave base.
The artisan beautifully applied an intentional crackle glaze to the foliage, creating a purposeful crazing effect that perfectly mimics the natural veining and texture of real leaves. This contrasts elegantly with the smooth, high-gloss finish reserved for the realistic fruit elements.
The underside features the authentic, impressed "MADE IN ITALY" mark alongside the original vintage "Cottura Ceramic Art Imports" retailer label, including model code BEL-9159CLR. Known for curating premium, artisan-made Italian ceramics, Cottura provenance guarantees this piece's high-end mid-to-late 20th-century heritage.
A spectacular, high-gloss statement piece perfect for a dining table, credenza, or kitchen island.
14” round x 12” high
Due to weight and handcrafted nature this item will be double boxed for safe delivery.
Condition Notes Good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. Features beautiful, intentional artisan crazing on the green leaf glaze to simulate natural leaf veining. Please review all photos carefully to evaluate the high-gloss glaze finish, intricate mold work, and imperfections consistent with hand molded, painted, glazed and fired terracotta Italian majolica.
The underside shows an imperfection in the firing process in that a leaf cracked in process. The leaf is solid and sturdy. This is inherent in handcrafting and does not takeaway from the piece.
