A double-faced illuminated railway station clock by rft (rundfunk- und fernmelde-technik), made in germany and fully restored, with its movement converted to quartz and its body refinished in satin retro green.
this example is a secondary clock of the type once driven by a central master clock to keep time synchronized across a station concourse, with the double-sided face that allowed it to be read from both directions.
the restoration retains the original steel body, refinished here in a satin retro green, and reuses the original clock hands. The light-transmitting opal dial faces have been redesigned to match the original layout and fitted with new transparent acrylic glass covers. Originally lit by a fluorescent tube, the clock has been modernized with an internal led strip, adjustable in brightness and colour by remote control. The movement has been converted to two high-torque quartz mechanisms running on two batteries (not included), with a side access door for battery changes.
this is a single, restored piece. As an original vintage object it shows signs of wear consistent with its working history; please review the photographs.
