Their … Read more Swedish set of four dining/side chairs from circa 1790, in classic Gustavian taste for elegant proportions and timeless details. Their painted frames reveal patinated layers of teal, peacock-blue pigment and weathered gray in a soft matte finish with fine craquelure. This unique coloration adds definition to the chair backs of three columnar splats and a line of three rondels in the handrail. The chair seats retain their original horsehair filling, wrapped in plain muslin while they await new upholstery. Slender tapered legs braced by H-form stretchers have both order and a sense of lightness to fit anywhere. We believe these to be in good antique condition considering their age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.Please view the detailed image gallery for the current condition and message us with any questions.
