Design maitland smith usa 1990s h 195cm w 67cm d 34cm an exceptional monumental floor clock by maitland-smith, masterfully executed in richly figured marble and stone veneers with elegant brass detailing throughout. Combining the sophistication of art deco geometry with the craftsmanship and luxurious materials for which maitland-smith is renowned, this impressive timepiece functions equally as a clock and a sculptural statement piece. The architectural form is composed of contrasting marbles in warm ivory, deep espresso, and dramatic veined stone, meticulously arranged in a striking composition of circles, arcs, and geometric panels. Fine brass inlays separate the marble sections, accentuating the design’s graphic lines while adding warmth and refinement to the overall composition. A large circular clock face anchors the piece, while sweeping brass-trimmed motifs cascade down the body, creating a sense of movement reminiscent of classic art deco architecture.
