Direct from France, a rare and exceptional 19th century French child’s high chair with impressive Renaissance Revival details.

Hand carved details throughout the solid oak chair include a high back with a pierced carved crest of scrolling leaves and vines framed by tall turned finials and carved blocks.

The original caned back panel is framed with scalloped carvings, classic barley twist side posts, barley twist arms and barley twist arm supports.

The chair seat features its original hand caned panel, framed by a carved beveled edge seat. Completing the design are lower bobbin turned legs, bobbin stretchers and bobbin cross stretchers with a wide, carved lower foot rest.

With such distinctive features, this chair serves equally as a functional antique, a decorative accent, or a striking display piece. A fine example of period craftsmanship, circa 1890.
