Beautifully. maintained all original 1920s Chippendale Mahogany secretary slant top desk featuring fold-out writing surface, fitted interior of cubbies with small drawers, four serpentine front drawers and classic ball-and-claw feet. All drawers have the original working locks and key. Single family owned for generations, the desk was purchased in the early 20th century from Philadelphia's John Wanamaker flagship store.
John Wanamaker pioneered the modern department store and officially launched his furniture department in 1880. The iconic store at 13th and Market Streets became a premier destination for high-end furniture and interior design.
