Perfect for lobster season in New England, we have an uncommon coastal pattern on quality Bavarian porcelain. It was produced as early as the 1950’s and into the 1980’s and is now discontinued.
From JKW Bavaria, the porcelain was exported by OTCO In West Germany.
Each piece has at the center a realistic lobster in red. The rims are decorated with various shellfish in tones of sepia . The final trim is gold on the outer rim .
The cups feature shrimp rather than lobsters.
The oval serving platters are large at 15”.
The tureen matches the pattern but has a different backstamp indicating that it was by a different company but also marketed by OTCO. . It has the underplate but is missing the ladle.
The set includes:
13 10.25” dinner plates
7 cup and saucers
8 rimmed soups
8 salad plates
2 15” oval serving platters
1 covered tureen with underplate
This dinnerware is a hard to find pattern. We have seen isolated pieces here and there but never a set this large in wonderful condition.
