It is surmounted by a high … Read more Remarkable property clock in bronze with brown patina, dating from the late nineteenth century.
It is surmounted by a high bronze statue illustrating a woman from ancient Rome, dressed in a peplum and wearing sandals. Her wavy hair, done up in a bun, is accessorized with a fine headband.
A signature "A.D", crowned with a small star, is engraved on the left rear corner of the sculpture.
A second element, in the lower part, benefits from a clock with a sea green marble dial. It is accompanied on both sides by a plaque made of the same marble.
On both ends of the clock as well as on the side walls, we find characters from Antiquity, in relief, dressed in draped period costumes. They are engaged in various recreational and pleasant activities such as reading, theater and music. These subjects are subtly patinated, accentuating the details of their features and their clothes. The background on which these decorations are built is an important part in bronze, 6 cm wide and 19 cm deep.
This superb set of property rests on a black base, surrounded by a beautiful pronounced molding.
Imbued with realism, elegance and poetry, this important clock will seduce you with its prestige and noble appearance.
