A black wire frame "Bird Chair" and ottoman set by Harry Bertoia for Knoll furniture. The seat is made of a wire mesh of crossed steel rods welded together, linked to the base with four rubber shock mounts.

Furniture designer Harry Bertoia had a vision to create a sturdy and practical chair that looked light and airy. He famously said "They are mainly made of air, like sculpture. Space passes right through them". Following the classical Knoll tradition of meticulous design, the set is robust. Shock mounts dampen vibrations with the intention of improving the user experience.
