Faux bamboo or spool turning detail enhances the front legs and crossbar. High tall back with an exaggerated swoop curved shape. Likely dates to the American Arts & Crafts era circa 1910-1920. Excellent structural condition with absolutely no breakage seen and very sturdy. Cosmetically there is finish wear, which you could appreciate "as is" for a rustic take, or you could repaint in any color of your choice.

Has the Ficks diamond shaped metal badge on the back of the chair, though all the paint which would have said "Ficks" is long gone. The chair is meant to have a seat cushion on top of the springs which still appear to be springy, and possibly also a back cushion or backrest pillow. The finished seat height off the floor will depend on how tall you chose to make your seat cushion, but the front rail height is 14". I would suggest a 4" tall cushion. The effective back depth of the seat will depend on how thick you chose for a back cushion or pillow if you add one.

I could not find this model chair, nor anything very close, in my online research. It has a wonderful mountain / lake house cabin / front porch vibe that would be a focal piece in a wide variety of decor schemes. See less
