Robert Abbett (1926–2015) was one of America's most celebrated outdoor illustrators. He initially gained fame illustrating covers for books like Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan series. Later, he transitioned into a premier painter of gundogs, angling, and wilderness landscapes. The piece depicts a classic outdoor hunting scene featuring a Brittany Spaniel alongside ruffed grouse flushing out of a forest environment. It is signed in pencil and numbered 607 of 750. The print is encased in a wood frame with taupe matte, visible wear is present and consistent with its vintage age. See less
