Direct from England, a distinctive antique Victorian chaise lounge bench with elegant proportions and exceptional versatility.

A richly carved walnut open spindle gallery defines the left side, with finely turned balusters, carved blocks and round finials atop the upper posts.

The high corner back features delicately hand-carved floral scrolls draping to both sides, with the carved detail continuing throughout the walnut frame, extending above and below the bench back and along the full length of the seat front.

The right side of the bench features a scrolling arm highlighted by a prominent carved floral rosette and the substantial frame is supported by five spiral-carved legs.

The delicate floral upholstery features shades of pale green, beige and rose; traditional coil spring construction with substantial webbing beneath reflect the quality craftsmanship found throughout. Original frame construction circa1880.

The compact proportions make this bench equally suited as a hall bench, as a bedroom accent, library seat or beneath a large window.

Measurements: 36” Height x 56” x 24”. Seat height 15”.
