Dating to the 1830s, this piece features honey toned European birch veneer in an applied book-matched grain pattern across the front facade.

While disguised as a stately four-drawer chest, the top drawer features a smooth mechanical drop-front mechanism that pulls out to reveal a fully functional writing desk housing four built-in miniature accessory drawers.

True to the purest principles of the Biedermeier era, this commode rejects heavy ornamentation, opting instead to let the organic beauty of the wood grain serving as the art along with understated period-accurate brass pull knobs.
