This Fine Wm. A. Berkey figured cherry leather-top Louis XV style writing desk for John Widdicomb, circa 1950, is both stunning and graceful, with classic library sensibility and a well-preserved, polished, and usable work surface. * Figured cherry wood construction
* Black Leather writing surface with three black leather panels, each bordered by decorative gilt tooling and a raised gallery edge
* Front elevation features a serpentine center section flanked by banks of shaped and molded drawers on each side, with brass-tone round pulls and a central floral-style escutcheon
* Cabriole legs that sweep outward and French-inspired shaped feet
* Drawer construction features dovetail joinery, and the interior bears the maker’s marking for Wm. A. Berkey Furniture Co. and John Widdicomb.
* Vintage condition is attractive and consistent with age and prior use.
