A stunning set of four dining side chairs from Thomasville Furniture Industries' original **Avenue Collection**, circa 1963 — documented by the original manufacturer's label still intact on chair.
These chairs are a masterclass in mid-century American craftsmanship: the dramatically tall lyre-shaped splat back with hand-woven cane inset, carved scrollwork at the base, hand-applied bronze floral appliqué on the crest rail, and reeded tapered legs with carved rosette details at the seat rail — details that simply aren't found in modern production furniture.
After 60+ years, the solid walnut frames remain exceptionally sturdy, the cane panels are intact and tight, and the wood retains its warm honey-walnut patina with only the minor surface marks expected of a well-loved antique. Seats are ready for reupholstering — an opportunity to customize to your existing décor.
